Jude Law in Hamlet Broadway Play
It has been announced on June 30 that the Donmar Warehouse production of Hamlet will debut on Broadway September 12th, 2009 for a twelve week commitment at the Broadhurst Theatre starring Jude Law in the title role.
The Director Grandage of Frost/Nixon and Mary Stuart was excited to deliver another Broadway production. They call it a joyful experience to be able to work with Jude Law in such a lively theatre because so many people will get to work with and witness Jude Law’s extraordinary performance.
Hamlet will bring to a close of the show at London's Wyndham's Theatre on August 22. It then travels to Kronberg Castle, Elsinore, on August 25-30. All shows in London and Elsinore are sold out.
These small limited amounts of Hamlet shows officially open on Broadway October 6th. Law will be joined by the Donmar Theatre company of actors from London and Elsinore after those shows have commenced. Complete casting for the New York run will be announced at a later time.
To provide greater accessibility to the shows at a lower cost, Arielle Tepper Madover has said that more than 100 tickets will be priced at $25 at every performance by Telecharge.com and the Broadhurst Theatre box office.
Tickets are available by American Express cardholders on July 1. The theatrical production will be on sale to the general public beginning July 18. Tickets are priced at $25-$116.50.
